One of the issues I come across a lot as a professional photographer is glasses and the reflections that they contain.  Generally speaking, the more expensive the glasses, the less reflections you will get but even the most expensive glasses will reflect to some extent.

Commercial photography in Dundee

This shoot for a games company started off badly, the MD had glasses which reflected really badly although they were far from cheap.  I was using a reflective umbrella which you can see reflected in his glasses in the first couple of photos. The first thing to try is asking the client to push up the legs of the glasses thus changing the angle of the lens to the light, this will fix the problem most of the time but it didn’t work here.

Next option is to change the location of the light, in this case that didn’t work because of the constraints of the office, asking him to remove the glasses was not an option this time.

In the end, I decided to work with the reflection, you can see the last photo has the name of the company reflected in his lens, I dropped the flash light and worked only with ambient light.

Sometimes you just need to accept the problem is there and work with it
