Mark and Laura had chosen to return to Perthshire (Lauras Home) to get Married and I was delighted when they told me they had chosen Castle Menzies.
As is typical I started off with Laura in the Kenmore Hotel where she was getting ready with her Bridesmaids, cold but dry is how I would describe the weather which was fine by me.
It’s a very imposing building
As Laura expected, I found Mark and his guys in a local pub
We headed back to the Castle for a few photographs before Laura arrived
Laura and Mark had chosen a lovely old Beetle as their Wedding car , even the sky was getting blue now and the sun was on the horizon
Laura arrived a fair bit later than she had intended
It’s great to be able to capture the moment when the Groom first catches sight of the Bride, it’s a bit of luck, a bit of planning and a bit of experience to be in the right place at the right time
There is a good spot just down the drive from the castle for group photographs, it’s a little walk but well worth it for a background like thatUpstairs on the top floor are some really old rooms with wonderful stone walls, it’s very dark here so a bit tricky but well worth the effort
The guests were all back at the hotel by now so we left to catch up with them stopping by Loch Tay for a photograph with the loch as a backgroound
Wedding Speeches make great opportunities to capture the guests expression, laughter and fun
Not forgetting the Grooms embarrassment
Back outside to catch some late evening sun before the dancing started
Laura and Mark were a wonderful and happy couple to work with, despite the Wedding running a fair bit behind schedule they got stuck in and made it all come together so we could get all the photographs they wanted. Thanks for choosing me as your photographer guys, it was a blast
