Kilconquhar Wedding – Kilconquhar Castle in Fife is not a venue I go to often but its lovely, a traditional castle with a permanent marquee next door for larger Weddings. The building is a 13th Century castle set in 120 acres of land, ideal for photo opportunities both inside and outside.
Louise and Grant held their Wedding Service in the Lindsay room, a lovely and relaxed ceremony by Iain Whitelaw, I work with Iain fairly often and he is always very helpful to Wedding Photographers, this really makes a difference. Louise and Grant didn’t want the day to be overtaken by photography, thats why they chose me I guess! In fact they weren’t really comfortable being photographed at all which is a pity because they are both photogenic and Louise really looked stunning. Anyway, I kicked off the day taking pictures of the guests as they arrived which was great, standing out in the sun chatting to people – so glad I don’t have a real job.
Louise arrived and it was time to start the Wedding, the lindsay room is lined with dark panels which soak light up, the room always seems dark but a bit of creative lighting soon fixed it. The service was personal, friendly and quick which was exactly what they asked for. A quick group photo outside on the stairs then it was time to work through the small list Lindsay had given me. I found some shade by the driveway and with the help of the Ushers we rattled through the list quickly.
I followed this with a walk round the grounds with Louise and Grant for a few couple pictures then let them mingle with their friends before dinner.
